Our story

About Tara Mini

Some brands are created. Some are inherited through love.

Our mission is to make jewellery feel like it was picked just for you — because it was.

We exist for the moments no one claps for. The ones where someone gives up the pretty thing they spent an hour choosing, just to see someone else smile.

The beginning

It started with a woman who never bought anything for herself first.

My mother, Laxmi Ronanki, has a way of looking at jewellery that I have never seen in anyone else. She doesn't glance. She studies. She turns a piece over in her palm, holds it up to the light, imagines it against a face she loves, and only then decides.

I grew up watching her do this. An hour in a small shop for one pair of earrings. The shopkeeper would grow impatient. She never hurried.

And then, more often than not, she would give it away.

A cousin would visit and admire what she had chosen. A neighbour would notice a bangle on her wrist. And my mother — who had spent that hour, who had finally found the one — would take it off and press it into their hands.

As a child, this made no sense to me. I would ask her why. Why choose so carefully if you're only going to let it go?

"If someone wants what I chose, it means I have good taste. And if it brings them happiness, that's enough for me."
— Laxmi Ronanki
The philosophy

TARA MINI is that hour, offered to you.

Everything we do is an attempt to carry her way of choosing into a place where more women can receive it.

  • 01

    Curated with love

Nothing reaches our collection because it is trending. It reaches you because someone here held it, turned it in the light, and could picture the woman it was meant for.

  • 02

    Chosen with care

We say no far more often than we say yes. A finish that dulls, a clasp that catches, a weight that tires the ear — all of it is reason enough to walk away from a piece.

  • 03

Designed to make women feel beautiful

Jewellery should not ask for attention. It should return a little of it to the person wearing it — a glance in the mirror before leaving the house, and the quiet certainty that follows.

  • 04

    Premium quality

Gold-plated finishes, hand-set stones and pearls selected for their lustre. Pieces made to survive real life — long days, warm weather, and being worn far more often than saved.

  • 05

    Affordable elegance

Beauty was never meant to be rationed. We keep our pieces within reach so that choosing something lovely never has to feel like an occasion in itself.

What every box carries

When you open a TARA MINI box, you are holding an hour of someone's attention.

Not a transaction. Not an algorithm's guess. Someone chose this — the way my mother chose, slowly, with a face in mind.

And what we hope arrives with it is smaller and larger than jewellery: the feeling of being thought about. The pride of wearing something that suits you exactly. The joy of handing it to your sister on her wedding morning, or to a friend who has had a hard year, and watching her face change.

That is the part we are really in the business of. The jewellery is simply how it travels.

What we hold to

Six things we refuse to compromise.

Curated with Love

Every piece is chosen by a person, for a person — never picked by volume or trend.

Beauty in Simplicity

We take away until only what matters is left. Restraint is the most expensive thing we own.

Affordable Luxury

Premium finishes and honest pricing, so elegance never has to wait for a special occasion.

Made for Everyday Moments

Built for school runs, long meetings and late dinners — not for the back of a drawer.

Timeless Elegance

Designs that will still feel right years from now, long after this season is forgotten.

Meaningful Gifting

Made to be given away — because that is where our story began, and where it keeps going.

A note from the co-founders

I built this so she would never have to give hers away again.

For years I thought my mother's habit was a kind of loss. It took me a long time to understand it was the opposite — she had found a way to turn her taste into someone else's happiness, and it cost her nothing she valued.

TARA MINI began as a small idea: what if that hour of hers could reach more women than the ones who happened to walk through her door? What if choosing carefully could be the whole business, rather than the part that gets cut first?

We are still a small team. We still take too long over a single pair of earrings. I hope we always do.

Thank you for letting us choose something for you.

So the next time someone notices your jewellery and asks,

"That's lovely. Where did you get it?"

Smile and say, "Tara Mini."

Because every piece carries the weight of a dream that wasn't mine alone, but a dream I inherited.
